Kamala Khan as Ms. Marvel has been a resounding success for Marvel, ushering in a fan-favorite character to reinvigorate the vacated superhero identity (formally Carol Danvers before she upgraded to Captain). Sadly now, her current run comes to an end with MAGNIFICENT MS MARVEL #18. This issue wraps up the 18-issue run from writer Saladin Ahmed and artist Minkyu Jung, who took over after original character writer G. Willow Wilson left at the end of the adjectiveless MS. MARVEL. This issue 18 is also the 75th issue of the overall Kamala Khan run since the character was created by Wilson and editors Sana Amanat and Stephen Wacker in 2013.
Ms. Marvel is a fun teen character, excited to be in the same world as the famous Marvel heroes we all know and love. Her earnestness is charming. She has a strong and full cast of supporting characters. It’s a great book, and it’s a good starting point as we prepare for her Disney+ TV debut in a couple of years.
