Perfectly matching last week’s pick, Marvel is wrapping up their miniseries with another one of their universe’s top martial artists: SHANG-CHI! Unlike Iron Fist, Shang-Chi doesn’t have any fancy mystical dragon powers. Just good old butt-kicking action as the proclaimed “Master of Kung Fu.” Shang-Chi actually predates Iron Fist by about a year, but both spawn from the ’70s era of popular martial arts media.
This miniseries is only five issues long, an easily digestible book to check out before seeing the character on the big screen. Marvel Studios is releasing the film SHANG-CHI AND THE LEGEND OF THE TEN RINGS later this year, staring actor Simu Liu and directed by Destin Daniel Cretton.
