The character Nathan Drake from the highly successful Playstation 4 videogame series Uncharted has been trying to make his way to the silver screen since 2009. Things seemed close with the completed and supposedly amazing Joe Carnahan script and the solid lead choice of Mark Wahlberg. Wahlberg eventually left the project and with this most recent announcement it appears the solid script in hand is being sidelined too.
After seeing the most recent cut of Spider-Man Homecoming Sony execs were so impressed with lead actor Tom Holland that they have given him the role of Nathan Drake. This means that the story will be a prequel to the videogame series following Drake in his youth as he first meets his mentor, as represented in the recent prequel videogame.
While this is ok news, Nathan Fillion should have been cast in this role and still could be.
