Dark is one thing, but almost black is another. This take on the Daredevil character is rightfully much darker than the 2003 film but honestly a lot of what’s in this trailer is so dark it’s difficult to see. Maybe this is by design for the trailer. I hope so. At any rate a grittier tone is what’s needed for this character and that’s what we are getting for sure with Boardwalk Empire’s Charlie Cox taking on the lead role. This series is the first of a plan connected group of Marvel mini series that will all end up in a Defenders mini series featuring the characters teamed up from the individual shows. After Daredevil there will be Jessica Jones, Iron Fist, and Luke Cage shows. Steven S. DeKnight is running Daredevil and his work on Spartacus tells us that he knows how to do the ultra violence for sure.
