The FOX TV series Gotham initially got a full season after being greenlit to 16 episodes. Fox today made the early announcement that the show will be getting a second season along with Brooklyn Nine Nine and Empire (which has only aired two episodes). Gotham is a procedural cop drama at its heart covered with a sheen (a grubby one) of crazy characters taken from the DC Batman universe. The series focuses on Detective Gordon and his fight to bring down the criminals destroying the city of Gotham. At the same time a young Bruce Wayne struggles to deal with the murder of his parents. In the future of course Detective Gordon will become Commissioner Gordon and young Bruce Wayne grows up to become Batman. The series took about three episodes to find its footing but if you are looking for a different spin on the cop drama the series is worth a look.
