So if you listen to the incredibly informative and remarkably hilarious (Am I biased?) CineGeek Webcast then you know that the writers here at the site are playing their own version of fantasy football. The difference is, wait for it, we’re film geeks, so we’re playing for movies rather than football teams. Follow along with us each week to see who wins! We’re also running a listener side game too(players for this game have already been selected from registered users of Cinegeek.com). Here are the rules, the list of movies we played for, and who got what:

The Rules:

Each player gets $100 bucks to bid with. Then the movies are bid on in release order. This keeps everyone from blowing all of their money at the beginning of the bidding on one big movie. So the strategy becomes do you let the smaller movies pass to wait for the big movie or bid on all of the small movies and add their box office totals up to beat the player with the blockbuster. That’s right, we’re bidding on which films make the most box office bank in the first four weeks of their release. Also, trades are allowed. We only bid on the bigger movies or movies that matter to us for this game. We’ll play three times a year. Our first game runs from January to April. The listener game runs from January to March. This will allow us to know the winner of the listener game in time for that person to play in our summer block. Here are the movies along with which writer got them:
